POSITION: INFORMATION SYSTEM OPERATIONS MANAGER
REPORTS TO: HEAD OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS
DUTY STATION: DAR ES SALAAM-HEADQUARTERS
ROLE PURPOSE STATEMENT
To provide secure, reliable, resilient and efficient services that will provide users with tools that will enhance productivity throughout Precision Air.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSBILITIES
• Monitor the performance of the application systems to ensure availability as per SLAs
• Ensure the data centre is run to the defined standards
• Ensure systems backups and restore processes are defined and implemented to ensure reliability for disaster recovery
• Develop, document and maintain application system support policies
• Ensure system upgrades, patches are tested and implemented as per technical guidelines
• Ensure that all productive systems are secure and data integrity is maintained and the systems are supported to agreed levels, to enable the users to produce effectively
• Provide the company users with secure and reliable working desktop environment that will enhance productivity throughout the company
• Provide an easy to access responsive helpdesk that supports the company IT users
• Build and maintain an effective IT business continuity plan and implement necessary Disaster Recovery site that enables the company operations to run in case of disaster
• Ensure new products are researched on and evaluated to ensure the Company continues to take leverage of Technology deployments in the industry
• Maintain an up to date inventory for the entire company IT assets for effective planning
• Any other duties as may be assigned by Head of the department from time-to-time
PERFORMANCE INDICA TORS:
• Business application systems availability
• Degree of internal customer satisfaction with IS service desk services.
• Effectiveness of IS continuity plan
• Number of new IS process improvements identified and implemented to customer satisfaction
• Maturity level of IS security practices organisation wide
COMPETENCIES:
• Ability to easily and effectively communicate with business leaders and senior technology partners
• Good strategic and Analytical skills
• Innovative and Results oriented
• Demonstrated ability to build and manage high performance technology team
• Proactive and able to identify relevant emerging technologies for the business Strong mentoring skills and the desire to share knowledge and experience
• Continual self-education to keep abreast of technological advancements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
• Graduate in IT or related field
• At least 3 years experience as a leader in IT Operations management
• IT certifications like ITIL, CISA are desirable an advantage
• At least 5 years working experience of Telecoms, Networks, Systems Infrastructure, Implementation Methodologies, Security and Continuity
• Ability to manage solutions with high business impact and reliance
• Demonstrated success in budget and cost management
